The Diablo Numismatic Society (DNS) has been serving Northern California’s numismatic community since 1960, making it the oldest coin collecting club in Contra Costa County. With more than 65 members, the club welcomes collectors of all experience levels – from beginners discovering their first collection to advanced numismatists specializing in rare coins, paper money, tokens, medals, and bullion. 

The club’s mission is simple: to promote education, fellowship, and fun through the hobby of coin collecting. Monthly meetings feature educational presentations by experienced collectors and industry experts, member show-and-tell sessions, auctions, exhibits, and opportunities to share knowledge with fellow enthusiasts in a friendly, welcoming environment. 

The Diablo Numismatic Society is also the proud host of the annual Contra Costa Coin & Collectibles Show, one of Northern California’s premier coin shows. The event attracts dozens of professional dealers and collectors from across the West Coast for a weekend of buying, selling, trading, free appraisals, educational opportunities, and family-friendly activities. 

Beyond monthly meetings, members enjoy club auctions, educational programs, newsletters, social gatherings, an annual summer barbecue, holiday celebrations, and opportunities to participate in exhibits and presentations throughout the year. The club encourages collectors to build lasting friendships while preserving the history and enjoyment of numismatics.
